DIVINE MERCIES

It is of the LORD’S mercies,
That we are not consumed,
It’s not due to our goodness,
If that is what you assumed.
Only because of dear Jesus,
Does God look the other way,
Our sins He just blots out,
We’re clean on Judgment Day.
So thank Him for compassion,
As unworthy as you may be,
And be merciful to others,
So God’s love they can see.

DIVIDED NATION

Oh just look at our country now,
It’s in such a terrible state,
The mass media has gone wild,
Liberals are filled with hate.
And as for freedom of speech,
It is seriously being abused.
I am filled with so much shock,
Each time I read the daily news.
I see no respect for our leaders,
Tongues that spew constant rage,
I find it all quite disgusting,
Why can’t people act their age?
Alas, in all of my many years,
It’s never been this bad before,
They’ve declared open warfare,
It so worries me to the core.
Now Jesus said it quite clearly,
We must all really understand,
If divided against ourselves,
Our nation simply cannot stand.

DISUNITY

If there is one thing we don’t have,
It is clearly spiritual unity today,
God’s Church has become so divided,
Folks went their own doctrinal way.
Many Christians remain convinced,
That their brand of faith is right,
And if you dare disagree with them,
They will challenge you with a fight.
There are now too many perspectives,
All those labels leave one confused,
But the shrewd author behind it all,
Must now laugh and be quite amused.

DESPERATE MEASURES

It was coming down to the wire,
Trump called Joe Biden a liar.
Not wanting to waste more time,
He accused the Bidens of crime.
Even cocaine was now in the mix,
Could this problem Joe even fix?
Son Hunter had deals in Ukraine,
But pure ignorance Joe did feign.
Both sides are now slinging mud,
Who will be first to draw blood?
Yes, election time is now here,
When politicians grab your ear.
They will say whatever it takes,
To win this game of high stakes.
Only one man will take the crown,
But the other will be shot down.

DEPART FROM ME

There are now so many preachers,
Oh they’re preaching up a storm,
But many of the things they say,
Are way outside of God’s norm.
They claim to speak the truth,
Like other servants of the Light,
But if you just listen closely,
You know it is really not right.
They all talk a lot about money,
They knock folks to the ground,
They do all kinds of crazy stuff,
But it is not Biblically sound.
So much screaming and hollering
Jerking around like someone dead,
They listen to the wrong spirits,
They have all been sadly misled.
People go there for entertainment,
Their music will split your ears,
Churches with that nightclub vibe,
Must bring the Lord to full tears.
They have women strutting around,
With hardly a stitch of clothing on,
Everyone shouts and claps loudly,
And then they all sing a Gospel song.
Then there are abominable churches,
Where being gay or lesbian is okay,
But when God rebukes the deceivers,
They will have nothing left to say.
Many churches have become a circus,
Drawing crowds they are all about,
They think they are pleasing God,
But someday He will cast them out.

DEMON CIRCUS

Well I once went to my friend’s church,
They were twitching and jerking so odd,
But a preacher stood there and told me,
“Join in! This is a manifestation of God!”
My spirit told me something different,
It was creepy watching them in a trance,
They moaned and groaned then fell down,
But I refused to partake in their “dance”.
One broke out in uncontrollable laughter,
While a woman rolled around on the floor,
A man stomped his feet crying Hallelujah,
It was time for me to make it to the door.
Some say these things are of the Spirit,
But which spirit are they talking about?
Unless it all conforms to the Scriptures,
Friend, you really had better watch out!

DEFENSE ATTORNEY

How much do we believe in forgiveness,
It is a question we each need to ask,
Aren’t you tired of feeling condemned?
So then bring that old Devil to task.
We have all committed so many sins,
And done things of which we’re ashamed,
But you see sly Satan knows this too,
That’s how he tries to keep us framed.
He’s just like a prosecuting attorney,
He constantly throws things in our face,
So he’ll lie and attempt to deceive us,
Saying in God’s Kingdom we have no place.
All our sins are too great he will claim,
God cannot forgive such an one as us,
Don’t you dare listen to all of his lies,
Because he will throw you under the bus.
Yes, it’s true we’ve all missed the mark,
But God has certainly not left us alone,
That is why He sent His only Son Jesus,
Who for our sins was willing to atone.
Now in Heaven we have a Defense Attorney,
Our cause is pled before the great Judge,
So when that serpent comes to hound you,
There’s really no need for you to budge.
Just hold on tight to our Savior Jesus,
Claiming God’s forgiveness thru the Lamb,
And should Satan try to ever condemn you,
Well, just tell that wicked liar to scram.

DECEIVER

You say that you’re not deceived,
But I see it each time you speak,
Your doctrines are just not sound,
God’s Word you twist and tweak.
Clearly you preach another gospel,
Your understanding is out of range,
You promote just so much nonsense,
Which quite frankly I find strange.
God’s Word is our true foundation,
But you mix in so much other junk,
Then claim it is a new revelation,
But to me it’s really all just bunk.
You are a real danger to the Body,
Young sheep may fall into your trap,
Thus I am compelled to expose you,
I pray God will soon shut your yap.
Be gone now you wicked deceiver,
We have seen too many of your kind,
While you think you’re enlightened,
You’re really just so deaf and blind.

They were wondering how I was gonna vote,
But, well, I had a major problem with it,
They want to throw Trump out of the boat.
So I texted back and said “Absolutely not”,
I really don’t support what you represent,
You wreck the nation and fight against God,
No ma’am, all your positions I fully resent.
Yes, folks, undercover is the way they roll,
Doing stuff in the dark but not in the light,
Secretive text messages and voting by mail,
Is how they intend to win the election fight.

BERNIE, BATMAN AND JOKER

Bernie, Batman and Joker,
Sitting in a cell,
Bernie listens closely,
While Batman gives Joker hell.
Bernie is all wrapped up,
For bats can carry fleas,
But Joker is so crazy,
He sits there quite at ease.
Then Bernie gets an itch,
Somewhere around his knee,
But mittens just won’t let him,
Get rid of that darn flea.
Joker then laughs loudly,
At Bernie’s itchy plight,
But across the table it’s quiet,
No sound from the Dark Knight.
A bat, a flea, a Joker,
A strange crowd indeed,
Bernie wants to scratch,
But his mittens do impede.
Poor Bernie then decides,
For help he must ask,
But no one understands him,
He’s garbled through his mask.
The moral of this story:
Don’t wear mittens or a mask,
For if you get a flea,
Removal will be a difficult task.

Dear potential friends, please understand that the primary reason why I have been online for the past 30 years, and the main reason why I purchased my very first computer back in 1993, was so that I could share my Christian faith with the online world. This has been, and continues to be, my primary motivation.
Since that time 30 years ago, I have slowly increased my presence across the Internet; first, by starting my own website — Bill’s Bible Basics — and then by syndicating my work to a variety of social networks.
Presently, I can be found on about fourteen different social networks. In each case, my presence on them has been to reach out to other Christians for fellowship, and also to teach them the things I have learned from God’s Word over the years. Again, God’s Kingdom, and sharing His Word with the world, is what I am all about.
Having said that, if you are not a Christian, and if you really have no serious interest in the Christian faith, then I ask you to please refrain from sending me a friend request, invitation or connection request. I am honestly not interested in investing my time with worldly people who are not spiritually hungry for the things of God.
I do not wish to offend any of you, but that is my position. I am getting old, and my health is not the greatest. Thus, I need to invest both my time and my health where it counts the most, and that is with those people who share my common faith.

Dear friends, please understand that if I accept your friend request or connection request, it is because I have checked out your page, and I have seen that you offer some indication on it that you are a Christian, and that you have a serious interest in sharing your faith with others. As Jesus said in the Gospels:

Sadly, later, upon revisiting certain pages and timelines, I have discovered nothing but worldly topics, and very little — or even nothing — regarding Jesus and God’s Word. There is no Christian witness to be seen there whatsoever. What happened to you?
My friends, in a word, discussing national politics; sharing food recipes; gabbing about celeb gossip; talking about the latest fashions; advertising products for sale; delving into the latest conspiracy theories; offering business opportunities; lauding military service and patriotism; etc., is NOT what I am about, and that is NOT why I accepted you as a friend or a connection in the first place.
In short, I accepted you as a friend because I assumed that you would be a blessing and a spiritual encouragement to my other online Christian friends, should they decide to visit your page. If you are not willing to do that; if you are not willing to let your Christian light shine; if you just want to discuss worldly matters; then I am truly sorry, but I no longer have an interest in keeping you as a friend or a connection. I want dedicated Christians as online friends, who are not afraid to boldly share their Christian faith on their accounts.
I am sorry if you are offended by my previous comments, but this is my position. I am only interested in an extended online Christian family. While I cannot prove this conclusively, for some time now, I have suspected that there may be times when Facebook will purposely restrict sharing and commenting on a wide scale; not because you have personally done anything wrong, but perhaps because their servers are being overloaded by their global audience of Facebook users. If this is true, it could be a part of Facebook’s “load balancing” mechanism, whereby they distribute the workload — such as web browser requests — across many of their servers. Technically, load balancing is defined as the methodical and efficient distribution of network or application traffic across multiple servers in a server farm. But even with that, if the load becomes too great, maybe Facebook simply prevents a certain region of the world from sharing or commenting for a short period of time until the load on their servers lightens a bit. But this is just a guess on my part.
At the same time, it could also be that Facebook has purposely restricted you personally, because you have been posting, commenting, sharing or tagging too fast. I discuss these issues in some of my other BBB Blog posts. Basically, if you surpass the hourly or daily quotas which they have set for a particular activity, they may in fact restrict you for hours, days, weeks or longer. Many Facebook users refer to this as being thrown in jail. Again, I have written a few blog posts about this issue as well. You may want to refer to the following links:
