For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” Mark 7:9-13, KJV

Young King Solomon:
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.” 1 Kings 3:9-14, KJV
Young King Solomon:
“Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.” 2 Chronicles 1:10-12, KJV
Surely we cannot say that we didn’t know,
His messengers many warnings had given,
But we were so drunk on that wicked spirit,
And so to greater sin we were simply driven.
Across the country like a rampant disease,
Our foolish rebellion just so rapidly spread,
Oh how we danced so wildly in city streets,
Not once did we really stop to think ahead.
But then the sands of time suddenly ran out,
And a wrathful God said we had gone too far,
So just like that His judgments began to fall,
And now in tribulation is where we sadly are.
The sound of mirth is now quiet everywhere,
And only weeping and terrible sadness reign,
While even tho we try to console each other,
There’s just no ridding ourselves of this pain.
Rebellious children stricken by an angry God,
Even our desperate prayers He will not hear,
But now we understand that it’s our own fault,
Because we did not give His prophets an ear.
