Bible Tidbits:
MILLENNIUM
Within Christianity, according to the Futurist "Pre-Millennial" point of view, the term "Millennium" -- which is derived from the Latin "mille annum" -- refers to the 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ and His Resurrected Saints on the Earth. Futurists believe that this glorious event will be preceded by a period often referred to as the Last Seven Years. Based on Futurist beliefs, this short period will be marked on the Earth by such events as the signing of the Holy Covenant, the reconstruction of the Jewish Temple, the Abomination of Desolation, and the Great Tribulation. The Last Seven Years will conclude with the destruction of Babylon the Great Whore, the Return of Christ, the Rapture of the Saints, and the Battle of Armageddon. These final events will then lead into the Millennium. Consider these verses:

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
Revelation 20:4-6, KJV

Note: However, please be advised that Bill Kochman no longer embraces the Futurist perspective regarding the aforementioned events. He now believes that most of them, if not all of them, occurred in the distant past when Jesus Christ returned to the Earth during the late First Century. Please consider reading these articles:
