Within Christianity, the postmillennial method of interpreting the Book of Revelation holds the view that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will occur after the 1000-year millennial period. This approach embraces the idea that the Golden Age of the Millennium won't result from Christ's Return, but rather from the world gradually being won over to Christ by the continued preaching of the Gospel, thus resulting in a 1000-year period of peace. Postmillennialists are often -- though not always -- inclined toward the preterist viewpoint.
